Day trip ideas for Summer 2019 Kosher Spain Trip.

Part 3.

Barcelona

One of Europe’s most-visited cities, Barcelona has more to do in it than can be discovered in a month. However, there are some absolute must-sees.

Barcelona is famous for its incredibly wonderful and eccentric architect, Antonio Gaudi, who designed many spectacularly creative buildings around the city. Most famous are his Park Guel and Sagrada Familia. There are many tours that focus on discovering his particular brand of creative architecture, and his works are definitely a must-see.

La Rambla is the most famous street in Barcelona. It is both a tourist attraction and a glimpse into the Catalan way of life, with many famous buildings and cultural attractions. It is a great place to do some shopping. The famed market, La Boqueria, is also found there, and it is a fun place to check out.

The Gothic Quarter is a great place to get lost, wander and enjoy the atmosphere. Just steps away from La Rambla, it is easy to escape the bustle of the city here.

The Jewish Quarter was mainly destroyed in the many wars that Spain saw, but there is an old synagogue that was recently discovered that is worth visiting. You can take a Jewish Quarter tour if you’d like.

There are a lot of museums and cultural institutions, including activities for children that can be a pleasant way to learn about the history of the city.
